Sugar Land Launches Volunteer Headquarters to Support World Cup Houston

Ribbon cutting and launch of the Volunteer Headquarters supporting Sugar Land’s role as an Official Houston Host City Supporter for the FIFA World Cup 2026™. The headquarters will serve as the central hub for volunteer coordination, training, and engagement for World Cup-related events and activations.

DETAILS: 

The Volunteer Headquarters will operate from April through July 2026, supporting a wide range of World Cup-related programming, including watch parties, community activations, and regional partnership events tied to Houston’s host city efforts.

The space will provide:

  • Volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training
  • Daily briefings and shift coordination
  • On-site activation support
  • Volunteer rest and recovery space
  • Public-facing visitor information and assistance
  • This centralized hub will also serve as a branded, public-facing destination to enhance visitor experience, support media engagement, and foster community pride.

Through a partnership with Rebees, Visit Sugar Land secured the Town Square location at no cost, representing a significant investment in the success of the city’s World Cup activation efforts.
